Camila Baeza

Camila Baeza is a Chilean contemporary painter whose abstract practice explores the material and temporal dimensions of oil painting through gestural mark-making and chromatic tension. Her work combines intuitive brushwork with deliberate color construction, creating canvases that oscillate between control and spontaneity. Working primarily with oil paint, Baeza's creative process follows the medium's own indications, building layers that accumulate decisions and preserve traces on the surface. Her abstract paintings are distinguished by their multi-directional brushstrokes and dynamic palettes that reveal depths and forces within each composition, resisting immediate resolution while inviting prolonged contemplation. In her solo exhibition "Todo lo que Arde" at Espacio FAST, Santiago (2025), Baeza presents paintings as sites of radical presence where the unknown can be revealed.
