biography

Colomba Fontaine (b. 1987, Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean visual artist whose practice explores the intelligence of materials and the tension between control and chance. Moving between traditional art processes and industrial techniques, she works with wax, pigments, stained glass, crystals, plaster, ceramics, and stoneware to transform familiar methods into unexpected tactile and symbolic experiences. Her work invites contemplation through material, texture, and process, revealing the hidden technologies embedded within craftsmanship. Fontaine has exhibited in Chile and internationally, with presentations in Mexico, Peru, Germany, and beyond, and has participated in fairs including MATERIAL, PARC Lima, ArtLima, and NordArt.
